THE ETERNAL SCAR

EPISODE 3: STAR-SLAYER
4

For three thousand life ages, Aethern and Anutherlyoth rested from their passion. Eloria, great whirlwind of Aethern The Ancient, stirred until the shining crystal seed broke, spreading its roots into the center of the universe. The roots grew deep in the womb of Mother-Light's glory, spreading high until three branches of light emerged.

The first branch formed into a new star. Because the light of this young star was like Mother-Light Anutherlyoth, she named him, Zulion, which in the ancient star-tongue means, “Favored.”

The second branch formed into a new star. When Anutherlyoth noticed the brilliant red hue of his firelight, she named him, Leeuwth-Rayene, which in the ancient star-tongue means, “Fire of Passion.”

The third branch formed into a new star. When Anutherlyoth heard the enchanting music flowing out of her, hearing her melodies in the song, she called her “Anoras,” which in the ancient star-tongue means, “Song of My Song.”

Time immemorial passed, and the Tree of The Flame produced many sons and daughters. The Children of The Flame grew in power and light as they stood close to the center of The Void, where Anutherlyoth and the Tree of The Flame remained. Out of the union of Aethern and Anutherlyoth, the realm of time was born, the shaping of the myriad galaxies, and the matter that later would form the moons and all planets.

Although the worlds would not be formed for many millions of years, the task of spreading the glory of Mother-Light to the ends of The Void began. Mother-Light Anutherlyoth, Star of All Verses, Matriarch of The Children of The Flame, instructed her many sons and daughters, “Do not go beyond where I can see you.”

The second-born, Leeuwth-Rayene, asked, “How far can your eyes see, Mother?”

“As far as my glory goes,” said Anutherlyoth. “That light that your great father gave me. Do not go beyond the light.”

Curious, the clever second-born son, Leeuwth-Rayene, asked again, “What is beyond the light?”

“The unknown my dear son; where vision has no power and love no reign,” said Anutherlyoth.

Leeuwth-Rayene could not stop, asking anew, “How do you know this to be true?”

“She is your mother! You will not question her! Her word is law! Be quiet little brother! Do not challenge her anymore!” shouted the first-born Zulion from his mother’s bosom.

From that moment onward Leeuwth-Rayene hated Zulion in his heart, swearing vengeance for his disrespectful tone.

After many millions of years, when the stars of Anutherlyoth were still growing in glory, magic, and power, Leeuwth-Rayene and Zulion became the most powerful and gifted of the Children of The Flame. The Void grew. As it did, the darkness spread. From his realm of eternity, Aethern prevailed upon Anutherlyoth to release her sons and daughters into the growing Void.

“They are StarSeeds,” said Aethern. “Sow them into the black soil of The Void so that your glory would preserve time and space forever. Then there will never be an end to our great love, and a bridge from eternity into time.”

Anutherlyoth wept and wailed for she loved each of her many children and always wanted them by her bosom. In her great sorrow, her powerful voice ripped the fabric of time asunder, creating a deep wound, a gaping hole between time and eternity. Aethern felt the heat of her great sorrow and declared an eternal memorial in her honor. “May the pain of my Anutherlyoth be herein remembered forever! May the wound of this love heal but may the scar between eternity and time stand as a reminder of the power of her love for our children! Hail the Eternal Scar!”

Leeuwth-Rayene heard the words of Aethern The Ancient and wondered. While Anutherlyoth called her children together to reveal Aethern’s plan, Leeuwth-Rayene absconded into the dark deep of The Void. Far away from the light of his mother’s glory, he ripped asunder the fringe of the Eternal Scar. Leeuwth-Rayene returned to his mother's bosom, but a dark shadow remained on him, dimming the light of his glory. He convinced his brothers and sisters to travel through The Void to see the Eternal Scar. They followed him, even Anoras, the beautiful and melodic third-born. But Zulion refused, remaining in the bosom of his mother Anutherlyoth.

While returning to the Cradle of The Universe, the Children of The Flame became sick with darkness of shadow. They died from the dark magic flowing from the Eternal Scar. The Tree of The Flame withered. Only the light of Anutherlyoth and Zulion remained. Overcome with great sorrow for the death of her children, she wept for a thousand life ages. While Zulion offered his starlight to lighten her grief, she refused comfort. After her sorrow ended, she summoned Leeuwth-Rayene.

Her voice thundered in great wrath, “Since you are responsible for the death of your brothers and sisters, you are banished from The Cradle of The Universe! I strip you of the light of The Flame! You will not die as your brothers and sisters. No. You will live forever with the guilt of your shame. May you linger as a testimony to all who dare rage against The Flame of my glory! You are cast out to the utter recesses of the universe, where the cold of darkness rules. Since you loved the pain of my Eternal Scar far more than my love for you, you are now bound to its fate! You will be a slave to The Ever-Night forever! I renounce your name! You shall henceforth be called, Deralius (which in star-tongue means, Star-Slayer.)

Then she spoke to The Wind, “Eloria! Expel him! He is forbidden from returning to the Cradle of The Universe! Send him to the prison of the Eternal Scar!”
